Tell Congress: Back Off Cuts to Foods Stamps

It’s no surprise that food insecurity often leads to obesity in this country. Without regular access to food – especially fruits and vegetables – families often stretch their budget by purchasing inexpensive, high calorie items. They also may overeat when food does become available to compensate, resulting in weight gain.

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP – or Food Stamps) is helping families gain access to food in hard times. That’s why we need your help in telling Congress that its plans to cut food stamps are unacceptable.

If we don’t tell Congress today that we support this critical assistance program, plans will move forward to cut $90 per month out of the food budgets of 200, 000 Washington families.

Please send your message to Congress through our friends at the Children’s Alliance today
