Take the SSB Tax Community Survey

The Sweetened Beverage Tax Community Advisory Board in Seattle is developing recommendations for the Mayor and City Council on how to spend money raised by the City’s new sugary beverage tax. The Board wants input from community-based organizations and coalitions as it develops budget recommendations.

The Board’s first major round of budget recommendations is due in June. Given this short timeline, they are using this online survey to collect feedback on community priorities that can be supported by the beverage tax revenue. According to the law that created the beverage tax, the money raised by the tax is to:

  • Expand access to healthy and affordable food
  • Close the food security gap
  • Promote healthy nutrition choices
  • Reduce disparities in social, developmental, and education readiness and learning for children
  • Expand services for the birth-to-five population and their families

About this survey:

  • It takes 5-10 minutes
  • Unless you decide to submit your email, your responses will be anonymous
  • Individual survey responses will not be shared – survey results will only be presented with all responses combined
  • Feel free to forward this email and survey link to your coalition members, organizational partners, or other community stakeholders who you think should participate

Please complete the survey by May 11.
