Our letter to Seattle’s Mayor and City Council

This week, COPC sent a letter to Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn and City Council members, applauding their consideration of healthy vending guidelines for the city. The guidelines were developed by the King County Board of Health last April and aim to align our government’s interest in promoting healthy eating and active living with the types of food and beverages found in the vending machines that are located on their grounds and facilities and in their buildings.

The guidelines would not only help ensure that our government “walks its talk”, but would also serve as a model for other municipalities.
