Last Stand for Transit!

Here we are. The state legislature is hours from passing SB 6582- a bill that will enable transit and local governments to help save and expand transit service across the state. The bill provides more local options for funding bus service, which has seen serious threats in areas of our state this year, including King and Pierce Counties.

Although the Senate voted not to concur with the House version of the bill, Transportation for Washington (of which COPC is a proud member) worked tirelessly to get calls into Rep. Clibborn to let her know that Washington supports her efforts to advocate for transit options. Due to this effort, the bill was adopted in conference and now moves to the full House and Senate for final adoption.
