On December 7, 2015, the Childhood Obesity Prevention Coalition held its fifth Statewide Obesity Prevention Symposium in Seattle, WA at the Museum of Flight. Building upon one of its most successful years to date, the Symposium featured presentations and discussions on some of the most pressing issues facing Washington today. Over 140 prevention experts, researchers, advocates and lawmakers gathered to talk about critical issues related to equity, healthier early learning settings, community design and active transportation, the latest in the healthy beverage movement and more. The Symposium was sponsored by the Foundation for Healthy Generations, Group Health, Seattle Children’s, Washington State Department of Health, Washington Dental Service Foundation, the YMCA or Seattle, and WCPPA.
