Update: Bill Ties Health to Transportation

Updated January 25, 2012 January 12, 2012 *- Olympia, WA

On January 12, 2012, Representative Andy Billig (D-Spokane) introduced HB2370 – a bill that adds health to the transportation goals of Washington. Effective, safe, multi-modal transportation is critical to tackling the childhood obesity crisis that Washington state faces. Transportation systems built and improved with health in mind can impact health and safety and reduce medical care costs. As a member of Transportation for Washington, Childhood Obesity Prevention Coalition is proud to lend its support for this bill. For more information on the bill, access the press release.

*The Childhood Obesity Prevention Coalition will testify in a hearing held today, January 25th on this bill’s behalf. For information on how you can support this important bill, see our action alert and bill summary.
